So you wanna be a R&R star part 3 New Beginnings ![]() So you wanna be a rock start PART 3 New Beginnings The process of putting together and releasing a CD of one's own music can be an intimidating excursion. Get past the money, the creativity, the production, the marketing, the recording etc. etc. etc and you've got it all handled. And , of course the chances of actually selling enough CD's to recoup your investment is somewhere in the negative territory on the scale of how to get rich slowly. But, all that being said, I have never been in this to become a millionaire. OK..OK..I'll take it if offered. I always said I could be a kept man, but that's for another time. No, for me the quest has always been to provide a quality listenable product for friends and thos who really "get" me when it comes to my music. It's a music of passion. If you've listened to the songs on these pages, you no doubt realize that these are rough acousstic guitar/vocal versions of songs. I realize it's asking a lot of the casual listener to "imagine" the finished project with keyboards, drums, sax, bass and whatever other accompanying instruments I settle on, but that is what you'll hear at the end of this process. I've written well over 200 songs. The fact that I have barely a handful of "produced" recordings is shameful. I do have many recording, but very simple versions like here. One of the reasons I began this blog was to keep myself honest. To set about on a timetable to success in the production and recording of my music. I've been very encouraged by the amount of listens and the comments I've received here and on the many other Internet sites I've posted my music to.
Now' the time to step up and deliver. With that being said, I plan on a late summer release of my CD. THERE, I said it. I've said a general timetable. Keep me to it please. I know it's my responsibility but support is always appreciated. That being said, I recently found a recording of 5 songs I made years ago. Not a few years. NOPE, decades ago. Two of those songs, I had entirely forgotten about writing. What was intensely rewarding was that even though the performance was decades old, the songs were timeless. I plan on relearning, refreshing and recording those for my new CD. Please check back and I hope you find the finished project as rewarding as I hope it will be for me. Take care, Michael Stone
